For the most part, when I have chosen to abandon a location, it has been because I just didn't recognize it as something I wanted to be part of, anymore. In the past, it has usually happened because the people I enjoyed interacting with all decided to move on... and the "new crowd" that came in left me with a sour taste in my mouth.

In the case of rewards-for-content venues, it always seems to be that the spammers and scammers drive away the legit users, leaving only a cesspool of garbage. Justin Sun aside, Steem seems to be heading down that road now...
