Hi jaynie@jaynie! Doesn't it, though? It's like a "Little Switzerland" in the middle of Patagonia, tucked up against the Andes, far far away from anything else. All the photos I've seen have been stunning... It's definitely a place I'd like to visit, if the opportunity presents itself.

Yanno, I'm not sure when I started assessing my mental state that way; I'm going to say that I first noticed a pattern in my early 30s, recognizing that under prolonged stress I'd "wish myself away;" how far seemed connected to the stress level. I remember a time with the business I used to have where I calculated that at one point I hadn't had a single day off in something like 530 days... and "short" days were 9 hours; long ones about 16. And all I was doing was surviving; trying to pay down a back-breaking debt load... and my thoughts were really far away... like volunteering for a 5-year tour of duty as the sole occupant of an observatory on the dark side of the Moon.

Of course, I used to be a lot more "dramatic" (or histrionic?) than I am now... but still, I think we reach maximum density and learn where our breaking point is. I could write about that at length... but I'll refrain.
