Ironic, in a way, that the US was founded by people wanting to get away from a system of greedy landowning overlords and governments... and now we have created pretty much that for ourselves, with the new "lamdowners" being the huge corporate property management/investment firms who are buying up everything left, right and center and charging usury rents...

Small wonder we seem to be inching closer and closer to a "villagers with pitchforks" situation...
