New things can be very hard for people to understand or even make sense of. The crypto world is perhaps redrawing the lines of how we define "value." Consider that once upon a time it was considered "insane" to invest in stocks that had more than maybe a 20-25 P/E ratio. Then came the tech boom and the whole notion that a reasonable P/E was an indicator went out the window.
Seems to me it's all a zero-sum game. Just like there have to be "losers" in order for there to be "winners," in the investment game, there's might well be a seller of Microsoft stock in order for there to be a buyer of Bitcoin. And when I buy $1000 worth of BTC on the expectation it will rise, someone sold $1000 worth of BTC on the expectation it would fall... only one of us gets to be right.
