That is very true... and one of the more important things you pointed out here is that we tend to follow interesting people, and are likely to read their posts even when it's on a topic we really don't care about.

Does "quality" content matter? Sure... but in my opinion, what matters even more is content that adds value, even if that's just an exceptionally cute picture of someone's new puppy.

And yes, the best way to build your following, is by being authentically interested in what others have to offer!
