Hey Paul, yes I deal with that dichotomy quite often. I guess it's a lack of time thing... being on Hive is something I do in my spare spare time. So I create something, next step is responding to comments people have left, and then cruising around a bit to check out "old friends," as you say.

Which (when it comes to building and promoting the community) leaves relatively little time and energy for such things as checking the #introduceyourself feed and welcoming newcomers. Which means I really don't consume nearly as much content as I wish I had time for.
