RE: Letting the Cards Fall Where They Want — the Value of “Giving Up”
I get that. It has been a long learning curve for me to let go of the whole "failure means everlasting shame for you!" mindset!

RE: Things Are Rarely Straightforward!
This just turned into a far more protracted saga than we had ever envisioned! The thing that mystified me most about it all is that we live in an entire region — with 300,000+ people — that is all-propane,

RE: A few thoughts on cash savings and regular saver slush funds....
I think in situations like this where you can earn a little extra on a time deposit, perhaps the most important thing is to be truly honest with yourself about what you might need, and what you can afford

Wow, that's crazy! I don't think I've ever seen that many people there... in at least 20+ visits.

RE: What An Amazing Adventure This Has Been...
Re-finding life and meaning in life is such a beautiful experience! And it so often starts with finding joy and gratitude in simply What Is, not from big plans for a future that might never come. As Ram

RE: Joshua Tree
Such a beautiful, strange and almost otherworldly place. We used to go there a lot, because my mother-in-law actually lived in the village of Joshua Tree. We'd stay at the Harmony Motel in Twentynine Palms

RE: Reimagining Creative Support: Hive as a Web3.0 Patreon Alternative
Tagging @acidyo here - maybe there is a tip to share! That's a great idea! He has more experience working with — and integrating — external platforms than virtually anyone else in the Hivesphere.

RE: Reimagining Creative Support: Hive as a Web3.0 Patreon Alternative
Maybe part of the approach here could be to offer Hive as a sort of benefit to your existing patrons... instead of phrasing it as "a move" phrase it as a new "benefit" that offers patrons

It's a great idea, and I'm glad you're giving it some potential "air time" here! I'm glad you're exploring this from the perspective of someone who has been part of the community for a long time.

Moving is a nightmare, for sure! And I am not looking forward to this next move, but at least we have a good long time horizon to work with, knowing that it's going to be spring/summer 2026. I'm trying

Nah, the particular subspecies I am referring to are the ones who are almost violently possessive of their freedom, while lacking the intelligence/insight to understand the concept of reciprocity. Somehow,

Nothing very "free" about it! It figures, though... property taxes here are heinous.

Interesting you you say that. My life was at its most manageable and compact shortly after my divorce, and right after having moved four times in three years. For once, it didn't feel overwhelming. Now

RE: Light vs Dark — Ebbs and Flows in the World of Creativity
As I think I mentioned, I owe being here to feeling utterly disgusted with Facebook, almost exactly eight years ago. People were being massively disrespectful and arbitrarily attacking each other following

Not something we see much, here. The municipalities even make it very difficult to create affordable places to live, by setting up all kinds of laws to prohibit dwellings below a certain size, and even

Wow! I must have been doing it wrong for all these years! Always loved this Krishnamurti quote: "It's no sign of health to be well-adjusted to a profoundly sick society."

Sad reflection on a growing part of the human species, it seems. You become "the bad guy" when you point out that someone is engaging in sketchy behavior. And often, the complaint is wrapped

RE: Memories of a Very Different Life
That cat was just a "turn up" and when it kept coming around my mom eventually declared "SOMEbody has to take care of the poor thing" and started feeding it. The rest is history...
