RE: Sunday Reflection: In Celebration of All Slain Hope and Lost Causes!
I get that. I've just never been very attracted to the extremely "shiny" in life, nor to bein in any sort of limelight.

Agreed. And one of the important ideal in my life has long been that people need to "do good" for the reason that it is doing good, not because they are looking to get recognition for their good

RE: Share your TUNES and WIN the post earnings! - TRACK OF THE WEEK! (ROUND 66)
Reaching for a bit of "sunny mood" electronica/techno this week... hard to be in a bad mood after listening to this in surround sound... and yet it has a melancholic and reflective undertone;

RE: When considering the push for a one world government this quote by Dan Larimer sounded loudly in my mind...
You can order a paperback version from Dan's "BookBaby" self-publishing page:

RE: Sometimes My Train of Thought Leaves the Station Before I Can Get on...
My experience tells me that old-time bloggers (of which I consider myself one) care more about the interaction and engagement than most. Most modern social media is just a giant show of people trying to

I can certainly relate to that... my brain seems to be all over the Universe, most of the time. Hence I take a lot of notes when ideas come up! I understand the issue with "branching" (what I

Ouch. Yes, Lyme disease is such a game changer for a lot of people. I have pretty much stopped doing Facebook, except as an occasional vessel to post updated family event photos; it works for that since

Ah yes. That. Yes. I have piles and folders and notepad docs on my computer and laptop with partially "baked" ideas that I will most likely never use... but then again, maybe I will, someday!

RE: Entitlement, Expectations, the Easy Life and Other Misguided Notions
My former father-in-law was always saying that the only thing he really cared about was whether he could — with a good conscience — claim that he had left the world even just a little bit better as a result

RE: Entitlement, Expectations, the Easy Life and Other Misguided Notions
Absolutely, life does not get easier! I do believe life is pretty much what we create it to be... and we're not "owed" a damn thing, simply for being upright and breathing.

RE: Entitlement, Expectations, the Easy Life and Other Misguided Notions
Indeed... the best thing we can do for ourselves is to do our best, and stay true to our own course, rather than allow others to tell us how we "should" be living our lives. And yes, I do think

Well, I guess we're of the generation that immediately preceded all the entitlement issues. I still work hard and long hours, but at least we're succeeding in making life easier and less expensive, meaning

Of course everyone is here for the money! "The money" currently ranks about 3rd on my list of why I am here. I'd hardly characterize the rest as "bullshit and lies;" but I say that

That was what impressed me when I first got here... the users seemed far more intelligent and respectful than Crapbook and other places. Still here, 4.25 years later. POB does look promising; it's an

Time does pass by, doesn't it? I remember sitting in with my friend Sam Jones circa 1984 and dialing up the University of Texas mainframe from his Radio Shack TRS-80 personal computer (state of the art!),
