Welcome my dear friends . I have prepared for you an overview of the project. HivePower is a platform for introducing blockchain technology into the energy sector and optimizing the expenses of its participants.

Problem
The energy sector is gradually changing from a centralized structure with large power plants (nuclear, gas, coal, water) to a decentralized scheme based on distributed resources (sun, wind).

This has led to the emergence of the concept of a prosumer, that is, the subject taking an active part in the development of energy for himself. This role is played by both organizations and individual households.Sometimes they produce an overabundance of energy and redirect it to the distribution network; the reverse situation — if they lack their energy, they consume it from this network.

The model looks convenient and logical, but the transition to it is not without certain difficulties. First of all, it is an increased load on the electricity network, due to the lack of centralized planning and intermittent solar energy production.

This can lead to a deterioration in the quality of electricity — power surges, overload lines. Electric vehicles and heat pumps, which consume a lot of energy, aggravate the situation.

The need to improve
If the problem is limited to the infusion of additional funds into the infrastructure, it will provoke the so-called “death spiral”. This means that the prosumers will consume less power from the Network, using their own resources, and eventually become independent.

However, these customers will still rely on the Central Network in case of an accident or the need for a peak amount of electricity. This means that the cost of maintenance and support of equipment will still remain, with a significant reduction in income.

These prospects do not look too bright — the gap between almost Autonomous consumers and the Central Network will increase, as a result of which ordinary consumers will be forced to pay for inefficient electricity at expensive prices.

Decision
HivePower https://www.hivepower.tech/ committed to creating the electrical network of the future, including optimizing the use of energy and the organization of suitable infrastructure for communication between prosumers, consumers and energy companies. Blockchain technology will help in this. It will give the opportunity to buy and sell energy safely with a small Commission for each transaction. In addition, even new aggregators will be able to enter the world market and be competitive (while now the market is fully occupied by several giants, and there is no way for a beginner to break through).

In the end, ordinary users will receive significant savings.

HivePower combines both technical components (cables, rated power, voltage limit) and economic. Network configuration will allow to achieve fair and fair cooperation between all market participants.

Network structure
Hive is a decentralized platform based on smart contracts, where each customer has the opportunity to buy or sell energy. Like the hive in the real world, the system includes many “workers” who support the existence of the “colony”, and regulates their actions “Queen”.

Workers represent the smart meters on the basis of the blockchain, allowing users to interact with the market through a special application User App.
Each hive node has an administrator responsible for its configuration and management. To do this, use the Admin App, which provides access to the smart contract under the designation Beekeeper.
Also in each "hive" is the Queen, collecting energy forecasts and anonymously passing them to the administrator.
Access to the hive Power ecosystem is provided by means of the HVT token, corresponding to the ERC20 standard.

The role of smart contracts
To ensure the platform's compatibility with Ethereum, the creators developed a set of smart contracts on its blockchain. Two main types of contracts are Hive and Beekeeper. Let us consider them in more detail.

Beekeeper
The contract provides a list of features related to Hives management. With its help, the administrator can add, delete and change individual “hives”. Beekeeper uses support contracts to obtain the necessary information.

Typically, an administrator makes changes to Hives by adding or removing counters. In addition, the Beekeeper contract can be updated if new security features and protocols are required.

Hive
The contract is for the control of the individual “hive” and takes place on the basis of the Beekeeper. It also uses to receive data of auxiliary contracts, but also provides storage of tokens and provides for the payment of workers.

Token information
For the platform's work HivePower need two types of tokens. The first is the HVT token used to create and control operations within Hives, as well as to manage the system technically. The second (third-party stable token) is used for all payments and transactions within the ecosystem.

HVT is managed by smart contracts; all emissions will be issued within the framework of crowdsale (100 million HVT). As for "stable" tokens, they are tied to real assets, such as the national currency, and provide reliable protection against volatility.

Immediate objective
Road map HivePower begins with the token generation. The money received from their sale will go to the first goal-the development of an open platform available for use by any entity in the field of energy.

Initially, the developers will focus on creating, testing and confirming the technical components and structure of the market, using a prototype. After that, the design will be completed and demonstrated to the public. In parallel, negotiations will be held with potential partners.

Team
The founders of HivePower have extensive knowledge of distributed systems and intelligent networks, ranging from computer science and mathematics to micro-engineering.

The last 7 years the team has devoted to the development of a promising and highly efficient algorithm capable of self-learning and intelligent network load management. This algorithm has already been integrated into one of the most influential Swiss utility companies and launched at the end of 2017.
