Didn''t Ohrbachs have one of those cash railways? When I was a child in the 60s, all department stores, and even some smaller shops, here used them. The cash was placed in a little container that ran along wires suspended from the ceiling to the cashier 's glass booth. The cashier returned the change and receipt the same way. The cashier was the VIP. The only one allowed to handle the money. We all dreamed of being cashiers when we grew up!
