My parents had a secondhand bookshop in the 60s and early 70s and I remember piling up all of Wyndhams books and reading them in sequence. Ah, the good old days, when brevity was the soul of wit and you could read a book in a few hours. My personal favourite is The Midwich Cuckoos.
