MY SUNDAY-CREATIVE ENTRY || DRAVING WORLD CUP THROPHY AND PLAYERS
Hello everyone and happy Sunday for you all...
On this Sunday creative, I will make something about the World Cup, as you all know that the World Cup is a grand event that will capture the attention of all people in the world. Moreover, this grand event has reached the final and this is the moment that all football fans will be waiting for, of course.
One of the things that is of concern is the World Cup logo this time which is very iconic with the typical Arab head covering, and because of that I will try to draw it and replicate it as best I can. At first I was planning to make a replica or original image and details of the World Cup logo, but I changed my mind and tried to add pictures of soccer players and flags of countries that will compete in the Finals tonight. Maybe I'm not too similar to making the character of a soccer player because I certainly don't really memorize the facial posture and also the curves, and this is the first time I've drawn it. So for those of you who want to see the process, please see below.
Previously, I will show you some of the tools I use for drawing, of course the tools I use are everyday writing tools and are easy to get. The tools I use are:
Pencil ( Any kind of Pencils )
Gel Ink Pen ( To emphasize the lines above the pencil line, I recommend using this pen if you want to make the pencil line thicker because this type of pen will still work well because of the ink mixture. If you use a pen with regular ink, the ink that comes out will be dashed if you draw or thicken lines that have previously been exposed to pencil charcoal )
Rubber Eraser ( It's better if it still has a sharp corner, because it's useful for erasing in narrow areas )
Paper ( The bigger the size, the better )
As usual, I'll start with the guide lines, they are very necessary if you are going to draw an object that requires balance like this twisted, shawl-like shape of the World Cup trophy. If you don't use guide lines, your drawing will be out of alignment and it will be difficult for you to draw it. Because I'm using guide lines, I just follow the lines by drawing volume or shape.
Once I get the overall shape, I'm going to detail it like the details on the top of the trophy. This detail turned out to be quite difficult to copy, I had to delete it several times because I didn't know the shape and several times I lost the shape. Luckily after trying a few times I managed to do it.
And this the first result...
As I said before, at first I just wanted to make the trophy in detail, but there was a lot of empty space on the paper that made me want to add other objects, such as soccer player characters, just to fill in the blanks. This is the first time I've experimented with depicting a soccer player, and if the face doesn't look similar, please forgive me because to imitate it requires several times of practice to make it look similar, not just with one experiment like this.
And this the second result...
After I have made all the sketches, then I will enter the coloring stage. However, before I start the coloring stage I will first make my sketch lines more assertive and in this case, I really need a Gel Ink pen because it will work really well even though I previously made lines with a pencil and I overwritten them. with this pen henceforth I will erase unnecessary pencil lines to make my drawing neat.
I also don't forget the details of the world cup trophy which has a little size on the front side and a little on the top. This detail is very complicated, where the picture is a tribal of a flower which is very difficult to just imitate, and considering the placement that has to be right makes it impossible for me to imitate it well.
After everything was in order, then I colored it with watercolors. Since I have done the outline with the Gel pen, after receiving some colors my drawing remains neat, and this is my goal to define my sketch lines with the pen before I color it.
Here I only need three colors in particular, namely Sky Blue, Dark Blue, and also red. For the character on the left, I tried to draw the logo on the chest of the jersey, the logo is even small, and I tried my best with my 0.5mm pen. I also tried to draw the flags of each team, I just crossed them out with my watercolors to make it look simpler.
And this the Final result...
That's the result of my drawing for Sunday Creative this time, I hope you like it and see you in the next post.
