Hello Everyone wherever you are, and happy Sunday for all of you

Hello everyone and happy Sunday to all of you. As you already know, every Sunday we will make Sunday Creative posts which can be in the form of Arts, Cooking, Crafts, Poetry, and so on. For this week too many have tried to make their Sunday Creative, and I see a variety of good posts there.
Today I will also make something for my Sunday Creative, and I will try to draw with Old Man Smoking object, I will try to make step by step in the drawing process, for that please read carefully.

For the tools and materials I prepared are:

  • Pencil ( 2b )
  • Rubber Eraser
  • Paper ( A4 )

As usual, I'll start with guide lines to adjust the position of the nose, face, and mouth so they don't shift away from my concept and character. For those of you who want to draw things neatly, I suggest you should also use them so that your drawings look better and not messy.

In this step I'm going to start slowly creating the shapes of the eyes, nose, and mouth for my guide. I also added a few lines on both cheeks to make them look as if they were puckered up and to match my character which I'm going to make is Old Man. The line on the cheek is the most common line made to indicate that the character made is old, and other lines will follow its contours only.

I got the face shape of my character, and the next step is to add a lot of components to make it look more dramatic and feel 3D

I made a lot of lines and it makes my character look old, these lines should follow the shape of the face and the anatomy of the human face, the previous guide lines are quite helpful for this, that's why I really like using guide lines, or what is commonly called Initial Sketch.
In this section I've also removed all the guide lines and I've created eyebrows that also follow the contours and eye shape of my character.

At this stage I tried to make cigarette smoke, because I happened to make my character by adding a cigarette object in the mouth, I was confused about making the smoke and I tried to study it on Google, and the results did not disappoint. I didn't make too much smoke so the cigarette smoke didn't interfere with the main highlight, which is my character.

At this stage I have entered the Shading stage. At this stage I do and doodle certain parts of my character, I do this to create a 3D effect on my character and give it a little lighting. By doing shading in certain parts, we will make it darker, and the parts that are not exposed to shading will look brighter, this is very important in creating a 3D effect, especially in sketch paintings which are usually drawn with pencils or pens which the result will have two colors only black and white. Therefore, the dynamics of the drawn character or object is determined by the Shading process, the more Shading, the more alive and 3D the object is.

And here is the result, looks good doesn't it...

Those are some steps in making the Old Man Smoking Sketch image, I hope you like it, thank you, and see you in the next post.
