Hello people, how are you today ?, i hope everyone is good and enjoy this day.
This is my first post in this community, and I want to discuss the art of architecture and design from one of the mosques in the Lhokseumawe area, North Aceh, Indonesia. This mosque is the largest in the city and has become an icon in the city of Lhokseumawe, the mosque also holds many religious activities that make it very much visited by people. This mosque is located in the center of the city so it can be seen from a distance.
Let's see the discussion of this mosque below.
This mosque is called the Islamic Center which is a mosque that has been built since 2005, this mosque also has a very good design for the interior and exterior. On the exterior there are several entrances and access to the bathroom as well as a parking lot at the bottom of the mosque.
This mosque has a very beautiful front view with a large garden in front of it and also has a very large main staircase arrangement and this is one of the main accesses of this mosque.
This mosque also has many towers that look like in the picture, this tower has a room inside to store equipment and necessities in this mosque. This tower also adds aesthetic value and makes this mosque a bit Middle Eastern style. The basic color of the mosque, which is bright brown, makes this mosque even more unique in terms of color. Brown color is usually a color that is rarely used for buildings such as mosques in Indonesia.
This is one of the entrances, to be precise in the west. This entrance is designed to be very large and can be parked several motorbikes in the front.
Each side of the entrance will direct us to the side of the mosque and access to the toilets located at each entrance.
The design in front of the entrance is very thick with Middle Eastern style, starting from the shape and also the glass decoration above.
At each entrance, of course, there is a staircase, and the banister is made of selected wood with very fine carvings. This flower carving adds aesthetic value and a design that fits perfectly with the mosque's Middle Eastern theme.
Such handles are available at every entryway and are of the same design and style, also made of the same material.
Here there is also a place to rest and a long bench to rest and this can be measured as large as one room. And for a narrow place, for me it is very spacious for several people.
This is the hallway to the main hall of the mosque and the link between the entrance and the main room.
The design is not too flashy and only has a difference in the floor and also small fences on the sides.
This aisle is not too wide but very high and also has brown pillars for support.
This is the side of the main room after passing through the hall. Here it is a bit wider and still adopts the design of the hallway with many pillars and small fences as decoration. The ceramic decoration on the floor is also relatively the same even though there are additional black tiles as the lines.
You have to turn left after the door to get to the main room, and if you walk straight, you'll come out through another door.
This is the main room, and here the room is very spacious and can accommodate hundreds to thousands of people. The front has a pulpit and a long carpet for prayer purposes.
The decorations and wall decorations are dominated by octagons and if you look at them, this octagon is not ready and maybe there are special decorations that will be placed there.
The ceramics on this wall are dominated by white with various gradations, they make it look like a mosaic with ceramics arranged in two types of white.
Inside the main room has a second floor which is not ready for renovation and this place can already be used for prayer. On the second floor there is a bright lamp to illuminate the main room and I think this is a smart thing.
I think in the future this second floor will be used better for worship purposes. But for now, the use of the upper floor is rarely used and only certain activities are carried out up there. For its main activities, it still uses the main floor.
The main room consists of many pillars as shown. This pillar is coated with ceramic or porcelain in white with gray gradations. The bottom and top are lined with gold and look a bit like a belt. And the bottom is getting bigger with carvings like the dome of a mosque that extends downwards, and is also white.
Along the side of the main room and just below the upper floor, there are carvings and decorations in the form of a mixture of various octagons. And here are also placed lights as the main room light.
The ceiling below the top floor has rectangular sections and in each section there are carvings and also a lamp for lighting and this place becomes a barrier between the main room and the hallway leading to the entrances.
After seeing the inside of this mosque, we will see a beautiful garden that is very well designed and combined with a parking lot. The small road leading to the parakeet is planted with ornamental plants as shown in the picture and there are many tall trees as shelter and a safe place so that the vehicles and people who are here do not overheat when the weather is hot. And I think it's very useful from the other functions.
This is a little discussion of the design of the Islamic Center Mosque in the city of Lhokseumawe, North Aceh, Indonesia. I hope you like it, and see you in another post.
