The 28th week is over and there is a lot of fun there, many writers submit their best posts or writings to enter the contest on week 28. As previously announced, this time we have entered week 29 and I feel that week 29 This will be more exciting than the previous week because this 29th week is filled with many interesting topics to discuss. As previously announced, in this first issue of week 29 we will tell a little about our experiences when we became the arbiter of quarrels, whether between family, friends, or even people we didn't know. Of course we have at least once arbitrated when there was a dispute between two parties, and I also have a story about this and I will tell it in this post, so listen carefully.
Humans as creatures who often interact with each other must often experience conflict or conflict. Some of these disputes themselves are just that, and there are also those that attack each other or take other dangerous actions. Even between countries often do conflict and this is certainly the main cause of war, massacres, or the like. The fight may only look normal when we see two children fighting over their toys, but it will be terrible when two countries attack each other with their weapons.
However, every time there is a dispute, there is always a settlement, either from peace from the disputing parties or there is a mediator who ends their dispute. Sometimes a mediator is needed in a conflict because without an intermediary the conflict may grow and become a wider war. Rarely is there awareness of the warring people to return to peace and this is the main reason they desperately need a mediator who tries them in order to work together towards peace.
Being a mediator is not something that can be done by just anyone. To mediate must be a wise person, and respected by at least the two warring people. Sometimes a dispute arbiter is appointed by another person and must go through a decision-making process regarding the arbitrator. If the children are fighting, of course an older person will be their mediator, but if it is an adult who is fighting, then a wise person will mediate. I've also been in this position, where I had to be a mediator when my two friends were fighting and I tried to be as wise as possible to mediate between them. In my experience as a mediator between my friends, I have to know what they are fighting over or what they are fighting about before I make a decision, and in this case I have to put forward a way out so that peace between them can be realized even if their wishes are not achieved.
If we become a mediator, we should not defend one side that might benefit him or us, we must win both or not at all. If we defend one side more, then we will not defuse the conflict, but instead will create a new conflict which will probably get bigger. When I was the arbiter between my friends, at that time they were arguing over a trivial issue, namely differences of opinion and going on with insults against both of them. This issue is a very trivial matter and there really is no need for a dispute, which is only natural because at that time our thoughts were still children and we often had differences of opinion.
In order to reach peace, at that time I had to know their problem, advise them not to repeat it again regardless of who started it first. I also threatened them to make them feel scared and sometimes this method has to be done so that they will respect us more as a mediator for their fights. I also have to be more objective towards solving their problems and don't care about their reasons because whatever their reasons, they must do it as a defense against themselves and which is definitely to their benefit. I actually rarely mediate between the parties to a dispute, I prefer to stay away and as much as possible not to interfere in their affairs, I only do so if I feel the dispute will be bad for me and those around me, or will potentially harm one of the two.
Being a mediator is not easy, sometimes we are considered enemies by people who are in conflict because of their will we stop. We also sometimes accept the impact of their fighting and this is really unpleasant, but to get to a sense of security and peace sometimes we are forced to do it even though it does not benefit us and will even harm us as their mediator.
Those are some of my thoughts on arbiters and I'm not a very wise person in this regard and I prefer not to interfere in a dispute and even stay away from it. I hope you can learn from my story, thank you and see you in another contest.
