The first edition of the 27th week went smoothly and many participants took part in the first edition of the 27th edition of the contest with their best posts. This time we will enter the 2nd edition this week and as you know, there will be a lot more fun in this 2nd edition. In this second edition we will talk about Traffic, where here I will tell you about my bad experience when stuck in a Traffic jam and this is really something that is annoying and I think you have experienced it too.
If you want to know my story about this one, please read carefully.
Traffic is something that we often encounter when we drive, and when we pass through some big cities, we will see it is very crowded and congested. Many accidents occur on the roads, and heavy traffic is the biggest contributor to these accidents. Therefore, each country makes a special unit of the police so that they can regulate the flow of traffic so that it can function properly, namely the Traffic Police. Not only that, the existence of road markings, markers, traffic signs, and also traffic lights is intended so that road users can drive in accordance with the rules that have been set to prevent accidents or traffic chaos. Even so, there are many parties who still violate the traffic regulations that have been implemented, and this is something that is strictly prohibited because it can have a negative impact on other road users as well as for themselves.
We no longer need to talk about what will happen if the traffic violator is, we will be very sorry if a few people who commit the violation suddenly get into an accident and create a long traffic jam because as we know, apart from motorbikes, the evacuation of vehicles that have an accident from roads take a long time, especially with large vehicles such as trucks, vans, or other large cars. It will also get worse because of access to evacuation vehicles that have to break through the many drivers who are queuing or who are stuck in traffic, and this is really unimaginable. If we talking about traffic jams, accidents are the main factor because the evacuation process will take time. Besides that, congestion can also be caused by the increased volume of vehicles, usually when there are performances such as concerts being held and the main access to the venue can only be accessed from several routes, or if in Indonesia, congestion can also occur during the few days before Eid-al-Fitr and also Eid-al-Adha, where the large volume of vehicles of people going home makes the roads or traffic more congested and congested.
I rarely get stuck in traffic because where I live is a bit far from the city center and there are many roads that I can take if I want to go somewhere even in the city center, but that doesn't mean I've never been stuck in traffic, I've experienced it several times and really- really annoying. This traffic jam happened when there was a big event near my place, this was the first time this event was held and of course a lot of people wanted to see it. A large performance venue attracted a large audience of spectators and so many people headed there that the vehicles from several lanes were full of vehicles, and one of me was stuck in there.
Unfortunately, I took the main route to the place, because I thought the route would make me fast because the road was wide and I went there half an hour early. The path will be very congested because it connects vehicles from two directions at once where each side of the vehicle will be able to access it easily. However, that afternoon became a scary moment for every vehicle and as you know the weather during the day in Indonesia ranges from 37⁰C to 40⁰C. At first I didn't realize I was going to be stuck there because I immediately left in broad daylight and the vehicle was still quiet on the road, but when I got there I saw that there were already vehicles that filled half the main entrance and I had already entered, and unfortunately the entrance was a one-way street.
On the one-lane road, I couldn't go back after I entered and joined the queue because the vehicles behind me would immediately fill it in a matter of seconds. Other entrances also seem to be getting worse because of the number of vehicles there, so they also queue up and honk their horns at each other. In such an event, what actually makes it jammed is the ticket booths at the entrance, the post guards have to identify every ticket from people who want to watch and at that time, tickets to watch can be purchased from several kinds of ticketing media and Of course, the physical form of the ticket is slightly different. Checking this ticket takes a few minutes for each vehicle and you can imagine how many thousands of vehicles that enter there and how many minutes will be spent. Even so, there are several officers who help check audience tickets so that the process runs quickly.
The event that day would have started at 8pm, but the crowds had lasted until 4pm and it was a really tiring day. Worse yet, there are many people who choose to walk from between vehicles which will actually slow down people in the vehicle during ticket checks, those who walk will easily go to the ticket checkpoint while those who bring vehicles can not go anywhere and wait until the traffic goes bit by bit. Therefore, the security forces divide the inspection into two places, a place for pedestrians and those who bring vehicles. And fortunately, the vehicle can enter safely because the traffic police limit the volume of incoming vehicles to break up the traffic jam and will open it again when the traffic jam is a little smoother. At that time, the traffic police and security personnel were working very hard and the spectators were also queuing hard under the scorching sun and scorching heat.
That's my experience queuing and being stuck in heavy traffic in very hot weather. It was a really bad experience and I will try to avoid it as much as I can if I have to do it again. Hopefully it will be a valuable lesson for you, thank you and see you in another post.
