Edited from Logo Maker app

Week 35 was indeed filled with many interesting topics and the first issue of this week was very exciting, so many contestants showed their best writing in this contest. After the first edition was successful, this time we will enter the 2nd edition where in this second edition the contest will be even more exciting. The topic to be discussed in this 2nd edition is also very interesting, namely about staying up all night. Of course everyone has done this and they have their secrets to staying up all night, I've done it too and I have a few tricks I use to stay awake. If you want to know, please read carefully my explanation below.

Night is a time where humans use it to rest after a full day of work, study, and even exercise. Night is the best time to rest and relax, of course this is a common thing to do both for humans and even for some animals, cold weather and a dark atmosphere do not allow us to work outdoors freely as during the day, therefore we requires lighting such as lamps or candles to work at night. However, times have completely changed, night is not a barrier for some people to keep doing their jobs, even criminal work takes advantage of the dark night atmosphere for them to act. Nowadays, there are many lights and working at night is not a taboo thing to do, even though every company and office does not employ employees at night, and only large offices hire their employees to work, and even then as a guard duty. However, in big cities we can see a lot of crowds, night markets, rides, restaurants that are even devoted to the evening, and even some big events on television are even more lively at night, even though it's just entertainment, but of course there are the people who work there.

However, people only do it under 1 pm, and more than that some of us will use it to rest, but there are most people who also stay awake and still do various activities after 1 pm and they stay up late until morning. This is what almost all people do, and even we ourselves have done it even if only once or twice. And for those of us who are used to doing it, we will feel a little difference in the body when doing it, this is of course because our bodies need to prepare for everything, because we know that the weather conditions and body conditions at night are slightly different from during the day. Night is also the right time to avoid traffic jams, that's why everyone who wants to drive will take advantage of the quiet atmosphere of the night so that they can drive comfortably. The point is that people stay up late to do work at night so that everything becomes easy and free to do.

I've stayed up all night a few times and I can say I do it too often. Staying up late is not a pleasant thing for me even though the atmosphere at night is quiet and calming, I will never find it during the day. I used to not be a strong person to stay up late, but as time goes by and the number of times I stay up late makes me used to doing it and even I never slept for 2 days 1 night without sleeping at all and it was really tiring.

Usually I stay up late to finish my work, when I was in college, I used it to type most of the files so I wouldn't be in a rush the next day. If I'm going to stay up late, I usually get enough rest during the day so I don't get too tired. Besides that, I also try not to be too tired during the day because being tired during the day will trigger me to feel sleepy early.

Besides getting enough rest and not being too tired during the day, I always rely on bitter coffee without sugar to stay awake, it's like a car that you are forced to drive through thick mud. The coffee I choose is usually Espresso type, and Arabica with no sugar, but not everyone can use this type of coffee to keep them awake, this only applies to me. I also sometimes drink warm red Ginger solution to make my mouth feel spicy and sweat a little and it keeps me awake for a while.

The cold air at night is unbeatable. The night is usually accompanied by drizzle or snow in subtropical countries, this will make the cold night atmosphere even colder to the bone. When driving at night and having to stay awake, I will usually take advantage of this cold air piercing to my bones, the way I take off my jacket and only wear underwear so that my whole body is horribly cold.

When the body becomes very cold, our brain will give uncomfortable signals to the body and this makes the body a little more energetic and relieves fatigue a little so that it reduces sleepiness. However, the effect of this technique is very dangerous, especially if you do it often, because of the terrible effects such as flu, cough, illness, to make you have to be taken to the hospital just because of this.
I myself prefer not to do it, but when driving a vehicle alone on a long trip which of course I must not let my guard down one bit, I will only do it if there is nothing else to keep me awake and this is the last option for me to do, and I'm not suggesting you do this.

When I was in college, I stayed up late to finish my assignments until the morning, even though I had graduated, I also often did it to watch football matches on television with my friends. At times like this, I have to keep joking, talking, and laughing with my friends so that my drowsiness disappears, even though I ramble while talking, but when I talk at least our brains are still working and not resting, therefore we still don't feel sleepiness. Especially when watching football, or even doing something with my friends, I don't feel sleepy because there is interaction and the sleepiness will go away as long as we still feel happy, talk, and think even if only a little.

Some cultures in Europe also have sleep-reducing techniques such as counting Sheep in pictures, this they do to keep their minds and brain is still working and their sleepiness will disappear.

Of all sleep-relieving techniques in the world, Fear is the best solution for sleepiness. Fear makes our brain send two signals to the body, namely an uncomfortable signal and a signal to always be alert, therefore our body will react to these signals and release chemical hormones that make us unable to sleep. What makes us sleepy is comfort, and the desire to rest, and Fear suppresses these two things and keeps us alert to our surroundings without feeling the slightest sleepiness.

As an example, you would not dare to close your eyes in a quiet hospital hallway and adjacent to a morgue, your senses would be more sensitive than usual, and you would look around and turn around if something suddenly moves around you.

Those are some tips from me to relieve sleepiness, hopefully it will be useful, thank you and see you later.
