Hello ASEAN, how are you today...?, I hope everything will be good.

After a while of not posting because I have to finish my thesis, this time I'm back with an interesting post that I got today.
This time I visited a fish seed breeding site in North Aceh, to be precise in the village of Pante Jaloh, Sawang sub-district. This place is the only fish breeding place in North Aceh district. I will review a little about this place, so stay tuned.

Actually this place is a bit far from the main road to get to Pante Jaloh Village, I was even invited by my friends here and coincidentally they have often been to this place. The road to access this place isn't really that winding however, I have to memorize it a few times so I can remember it. LOL
They usually do their activities in the morning and unfortunately this time I came in the afternoon, and of course I couldn't see them doing their activities. But even so, I will share what I learned from them when they explained the function of this place.

Here you can see many ponds that have fish in them. The small fish are put into the pond as shown in the picture. They regularly feed the fish in this pond every morning. As far as I know the rectangular net in the middle of the pond is a place for fish fry, and they will release them from there when the fish get a little bigger.
There are several ponds that are used for fish seeds like this and after the fish grow big, they will move them to another pond.

If you pay attention, you will see many fish swimming in the pond, their number is very large, they even say their number almost fills the entire pond. I'm very happy to see that swimming in large numbers like this, but these fish can't be harvested because their size is still too small for consumption.

For fish that are a little bigger, they will put it in this pond. This pond looks calm because the fish that are already big won't be clinging to splashing water on the surface. Usually the fish raised here are Tilapia, Gurame, and the like. They are all freshwater fish which are fish with a relatively easy maintenance process compared to saltwater fish. But for adult sizes, saltwater fish are far less than freshwater fish which have a much larger weight.

Fish that can be harvested will be placed in an ordinary pond like this. Fish that can be harvested have a size that even reaches the size of an adult's thigh. With such a size, we no longer have to worry about them being preyed upon by carnivorous animals such as cats, civets and so on, considering that this place is next to the forest.
Even the concern lies with the smaller fish, which have great potential for prey, therefore the pond for the small fish is very deep so that wild animals and carnivores cannot reach them. In contrast to ponds for fish that can be harvested, they have ponds that are slightly shallower because apart from making it easier to harvest, and we no longer need to spend expensive money to build ponds in such a way, and predatory animals will be difficult to prey on. them because of their enormous size.

The contents of this place are large pools made all over this place. It's really fun to walk around and see every pond here. They also made a walkable path to explore the entire pond. And this place makes me want to visit it again another time.

They built a very big road here, we can even fit a truck into this place. Indeed, when it rains the roads will become muddy and slippery because they are not on asphalt, but so far, this place is infrastructure-worthy.

Maybe this is all I can tell you during my visit to a fish seed breeding site in Pante Jaloh Village, Sawang District, North Aceh, Indonesia. Hope you like it, and see you in another post.
