Although I did fall asleep pretty early last night, once again between the snoring and the cat, a solid night was not to be. Was up around quarter to five, so not insanely early, but well over an hour short. I had a fairly reasonable energy level for the day, but was a bit worn out when I got home.
Did the usual morning routine which now includes the daily Wordle game. š My wife plays it too, so itās fun to challenge eachother to get it in as few as possible. Else wise, just the same olā. Cryptos starting to look a little bullish, but I have to admit that between the site instability and the transaction errors lately, my confidence in Aave has been seriously shaken. Actually been considering pulling out entirely now that the bonuses are phasing out and the rates are so lowā¦Iām blocked by the (bad, but natural) thought that pulling out now locks in three quarters of an ETH loss, plus a yearās time. š” Ray and his FIRE bullshit. š¤¬
Speaking of which, canāt say I miss the Man Cave at all. By the time I decided to leave, there were only a few people regularly active and the conversation wasnāt positive or productive. Quite the contrary, especially last night, Pizza server was hoppinā! Drops were flying everywhere and I was able to withdraw more than twenty PIZZA š! š¤ Going to use it to go into the 1UP poolā¦saves me from having to spend that much. Was worth a few laughs as well. š
Anyway, worked on getting ready for teaching today and then got my post done. It was up to quarter past ten, which is starting to become an even more serious pain in my ass, so I set an alarm and posted on the drive in to work. Having to time my posts to the minute every day and then decide when Iām going to get skipped is not a pleasant user experience, to say the least. Kindaā considering dumping some BRO to recoup my losses on FIRE, but itās already going to take ages to pay back that investment tiny fractions of H-E tokens at a time, so making that even slower probably wonāt help offset in the long run.
Got my lunch made and all that and headed in. Was a smooth drive again and I sat for a bit out the car killing a little time. The professor before me got out a bit early, which was nice, since I actually had time to set up and get ready.
We looked at quadratics, and particularly at the skill of Completing the Square. Got out a few minutes early and headed out to the car to grab my lunch. I really donāt understand why, but again the cell signal was abysmal. š¢ I ended up driving out of the parking garage and way out to the far side of the parking lot. Was able to watch a bit of choppy YouTube and that was it.
Headed back in and taught my Calculus class. We proved some more of the basic derivative rules: e^x, sin, cos, and tan, and we had so much time left that we started into the Chain Rule. Even then I let them out nearly an hour early. š± I felt guilty about it, but we did cover the material we set out to and then some. I am concerned that Iām going somewhat fast, but then again, we are just proving the basic rulesā¦once theyāre proven, itās just a matter of knowing them.
I had planned (for a while) to go to the Model A meeting this evening and Iād even prepared myself mentally for it so it wouldnāt be a last minute āoh, I forgotā situation. Even so, on the drive home I started to wrestle with myself.
The drive home went smoothly otherwise and when I got home Wenche made us turkey taco salad for dinner and we watched some Sex Education. I still had time to decide to go, and I felt bad about not wanting to be social, but I didnāt end up going, played Splinterlands and watched TV until bedtime instead.
I do still feel not so great about missing the meeting, if nothing else I paid for the membership, but that wasnāt really the point. The point was to get to know people (and them me) to have experience and expertise to ask about my car restoration. I did really enjoy the seminar they had, that was actually doing stuff and working with the physical car parts and I learned a lotā¦didnāt really see so much satisfaction from the regular meetings. Still, being an active member means attending eventsā¦see, itās rough.
I have the local chapter of the Libertarian Party annual convention on Wednesday as wellā¦after another full day of teaching, Iām afraid Iām going to peter out and not go again. However, I really do want to be elected as a delegate to the state convention, so I suppose I have a selfish reason to be there.
Well, there it is. Zero out of hundreds of SIM per day. I got my whopping one for the day, so hooray! dShitty is so far beyond stupid at this point (110% tax isnāt even possible) that the words fail me.
Best I recall I only went in once today on Rising Star. Maybe twice? Not sure. Either way, pretty much just the same thing. At least they havenāt collapsed in on themselves yet (like dShitty or CryptoFuckmaster), so I guess itās still worth hanging on for a while.
Still kindaā beating myself up over not going to the meeting in the evening, but instead (despite it being, strictly speaking, the last day of the season) I decided to give some Splinterlands a go. Having already missed a couple daily quests this season and being so close to Diamond II, I just couldnāt resist it.
Luckily, it wasnāt that bad and my gambit paid off! š„³
I canāt remember the last time I ended a season above Diamond III, but this time I finally broke the ceiling:
I got Water splinter for my quest today and completed in Diamond II. Pretty good rewards again and I was able to level up tg at rare:
Didnāt do anything about my vouchers today, but they seem to be holding fairly stable around two dollars. Iām really itching to get into the PIZZA:ONEUP pool, and Iām nearing in on a figure Iām willing lay downā¦so, might just sell them out here pretty quick.
Otherwise, staked my SPS drop for the day. Not thinking Iāll do much else than that, at least for the foreseeable future.
Now, it just waiting out the clock until the season ends.
Got my stats for the last week again today. not exactly sure how to feel about that red flag on sleepā¦glad that the average is actually reflecting my difficulty there, but not glad that the difficulty is there. Not to mention (he mentions) that glaring fail of a day in there where I broke my streak. š Canāt wait for it to warm up again so I donāt have so much of an excuse to cloister indoors.
