Rates on credit cards are above 20%, so 10% isn't that bad, especially if bitcoin appreciates more than 10% since the time you took out the loan. In a bull market miners will be profiting even with a 10%

Once the stakes get so big, mistakes are not easily forgiven. A lot of people that lost their vaults on BT have swore they will never use Maker again, but if they get some partial compensation....who knows,

Basically yes. You can either swap on Balancer, or use an aggregator like 1Inch which also routes trades through Balancer and other liquidity pools.

Thing is you can do stuff with stablecoins on ethereum that you can't with dollars in a traditional bank account. (e.g. moving large sums for small fees, lend in secondary markets, do arbitrage etc..)
