Today, I'll be showing you more photos that I took, in late August, while on a walk at Loch Raven Reservoir in Baltimore County, Maryland. This (for me) was an extra special walk as I happened upon several beautiful butterflies along with some beautiful scenery. I did show off a few of the butterfly photos that I captured on this particular day but not quite all of them! 馃槈
I spotted these two Tiger Swallowtail butterflies in a sandy and gravelly area by the water.
I don't, normally, walk this far up near the bridge but I'm so glad that I did on this day. I, initially, stopped to admire the views when I spotted the Swallowtails.
While up there, I also spied this Common Buckeye butterfly. I almost stepped on him but I (thankfully) saw him before almost doing that. It was the first time that I saw one of these so-called "common" butterflies...lol!
While I was glad to see the Common Buckeye, I was a little sad to see this sight on my way to a different area by the water. Considering it was late August, I guess I shouldn't have been surprised but it was still a little sad.
More beautiful scenery along the way!
I spotted this Red-Spotted Purple butterfly by the water in the area that I normally walk around at.
The best part about seeing this one is that it actually landed on my finger at one point! How cool is that?! I asked my husband to take a few photos but most of them were blurry. This is the best one out of the bunch though. My heart still "flutters" just thinking about it!
I did spend a bit more time in this area taking in some land views and water views.
Just as I was getting ready to leave, I happened to catch a glimpse of one last butterfly. Cheeky little bugger was hanging out right above me.
Honestly, this had to be one of my most favorite outings. It took my mind off of some terrible things that I've been dealing with this past year (if only for a short while) and maybe..just maybe..that little butterfly landing on my finger was a little nod from "up above" and I'm not talking from that cheeky butterfly either! 馃槆
