I'm dedicating my first photo to our host of Butterfly Day! I think 
I'm still amazed at how different the American Lady butterfly looks with its wings open or closed. You would probably not know that it was even the same butterfly! I even had to double check myself when I was looking back at my photos..lol.
The American Lady butterfly drinks flower nectar and I caught (took photos of) this one while it was enjoying some coneflowers. I planted the coneflowers a little later in the season so I'm really looking forward to Spring when the coneflowers (hopefully) blossom again. The coneflowers seemed to attract the American Lady butterflies to my garden and even a few Swallowtail butterflies stopped to visit. 馃挅
