Happy Feathered Friday! Since it is Christmas Eve I figured I would make a short holiday #featheredfriends post. I know a lot of people will be very busy on Christmas Day and with Christmas Eve falling on a Friday it just seemed like a perfect time to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and or Happy Holidays!
I expect to be busy tomorrow and I don't know that I will get much time on the computer. I re-filled all of the bird feeders this morning and the birds seem very happy that I did.
They were empty for a few days and I found a row of House Sparrows waiting on a tree branch over the driveway. I like to think that they were singing "We wish you a Merry Christmas" but, more likely, they were just chirping "feed us"!
I put thistle seed in the new feeder a couple of days ago so they would eat some of that before re-filling the other two feeders this morning with safflower seeds. They still prefer the safflower ..lol. I feel like the little birds eat as much if not more than the larger Cardinals. They also like to knock some to the ground which I don't particularly like. Not because of any waste though as the birds will still eat off the ground but it could also give the outside cats a chance of getting an early little Christmas present of their own. Hopefully, that won't happen though! Hmm, now that I think about it I really should've asked Santa for some more safflower seeds. 'Cause I think I'm gonna' be running out sooner than I expected! 😏🙂
