Many unexpected things happen in the diverse life of human beings which is sometimes beyond imagination. It might be pleasant, if our lives were moving like a parallel line where one would reach the destination through a certain way, after a certain time. If you think the other way, this lifestyle might be monotonous. If everything goes mathematical way, it becomes humdrum without excitement and I personally don't like it. There is a unique kind of satisfaction in being successful in dealing with the challenges of life. So if we consider our life like a carom board, we are like the carrom men of that board. Constantly colliding with bumpers and finally getting ourselves into the dark pocket, which we can consider the end of our life.
Every human life is the blend of bright and dark side with its distinctive features. Everyone hides some sadness in a secret corner of their mind which they carry through their entire lives. These hidden feelings can be comprehended by talking to that person in private only. However, when the real atmosphere is created, those desperations are revealed unconsciously from the mind. Such a story was revealed from my concierge who had been working here from last two years.
That day my daughter took me to our garage to learn cycling. In the last few days, she has almost learned to ride the bicycle. I find my own childhood inside her when she rides a bicycle. Suddenly that day when I was attending to her riding bicycle, our doorman was sitting next to me and I started talking to him. During the conversation, I came to know that he gets a salary of 9,000 Taka per month. After his own food expenditure, he sends the rest for his family members. It is very unfortunate to think how much is left from the salary of only 9 thousand Taka to send to his family members. Although he is leading an unhappy life, he always has a smile on his face. A little later I could divulge how much trouble he is hiding behind this smile.
At one point in the conversation, the poor fellow was saying that he used to work in Chittagong port. He later retired and managed a job for his son in his place. Since then his son had been driving an oil tanker vehicle there. Two years ago he went there to meet his son. They both sat together and enjoyed tea. The boy then said goodbye to him and went to work. Who knew this would be the last goodbye for him! Suddenly a truck came from nowhere and crushed his son in front of him and left. Such a tragic death made his entire world blank. Carrying all the tragedies in his mind, he is performing this low paying job today only for the sake of livelihood. Truly we are all overthrown by destiny.
Even then life will continue at its own pace. This life of ours is a blend of happiness and sorrow. In the midst of thousands of sorrows, we constantly seek satisfaction. This is called the life which is full of constant uncertainty.
