Hello, there are some very constructive ideas in this thread and #deepdives has been considering different ways in which to grow and improve our community much of it along the same lines. Not necessarily 'closed communities' but perhaps something more like Sub-communities which can have more niche topics for posting and discussions.

One idea that we're likely to test out shortly is "Discussion Topics" where members and the wider community can debate/discuss some hot button topics where the post is set to non-rewards while the best comments and discussions will be voted/curated by members of the community. At the moment, communities are somewhat limited and as we wait for some upgrades and improvements to communities it is worth exploring some fresh approaches.

Feel free to join #deepdives community as we aim to promote: journalism, politics, independent thought, censored topics, etc.

We also host semi-regular #deepdives contests that might interest you and we're always happy to have new contributors. Cheers
