Are you sure about that? I know LaLiga weighed in on this issue by being in favor of Messi staying but as far as I know, and Messi told this in the video he released explaining his decision, the only reason he didn't leave Barcelona was that he didn't want to go to trial against his beloved club. He has a clause in the contract that allows him to leave for free if he chooses so and there is even an old video where Bartomeu says this very same thing. Messi said Bartomeu didn't keep his word so he is certainly very unhappy being forced to stay. Messi didn't blame LaLiga for this, only Bartomeu.

This is true, but the current 98M in losses are offset by the profit of previous years. He would be in trouble if this season also ends in horrible losses.
