The average person spends far too much money just trying to maintain an image.

Look upon your bad spending habits. Start looking at habits that act like holes in your money bucket.
These habits could be your expensive hobbies.

Some people are bas at impulse. They see something they want, they buy it if they have got the money. They don't think to hard about whether they should buy it or not.
You need a bit of discipline. Before buying something, you need to ask yourself, if you really need it? And how badly? How is this thing going to impact me?
