Yes, we have microblogging on Hive for some period now, #LeoThreads, and to me, it has got a new pace after the new LeoFinance UI, which may record some good activity in the coming days.
LeoThreads have been there for some months and I personally felt like it wasn't able to attract much of the attention before, but now, the situation doesn't seem the same anymore to me after the new LeoFinance UI.
I have shared my thoughts in my post before on the topic Serving LeoThreads in the Plate | LeoThreads is Going to Record High Participation.
Now, the question is, why microblogging?

Microblogging is a short blog post that is designed for quick and typically direct interaction with the audience.
Talking of microblogging, social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram may come to your mind. But now, seeing the potential of microblogging, we may see the creation of more microblogging platforms.
Talking of Web3, I don't know if there is a platform created wholly for microblogging besides #LeoThreads. And probably this is our chance for mass adoption.
Microblogging is a fast way of communication with the audience as opposed to traditional blogs consisting of pages of text. It enables quick conversational posts with others.
For businesses and projects, that could prove helpful in making announcements about their products or if they want some clarifications. It can also have links to long-form content.
Benefits of MicrobloggingFrequency: Short messages could more often be shared by microbloggers when compared to long-form content.
Requires Less Time: It requires less time to create a post.
Mobile Friendly: Typically, microblogs are shared on mobile devices making them accessible to people anywhere.
Direct Communication: Microblogging with the short-form communication style helps in facilitating interaction by enabling the users to share comments or like it etc.
Promotion: Microblogging platforms could also be used by businesses for marketing purposes.
