Homelessness in Los Angels has spiked by 23% in one year. Before long, we'll start noticing that more people are living without shoes. Shoeber is a disruptive technology that gives more people to wear shoes.
Shoeless persons can visit Shoeber vending machines, and rent a pair of shoes for only 75 cents a day.
The shoes are equipped with a GPS, which tracks the shoes location at 15 minute intervals. A small crystal is embedded into the heel to charge a battery that will power the onboard computer.
The shoes will be crowdsourced, from everyday people like you and me. Shoe-sharer shoes are modified by embedding a module in the heel that contains the Shoeber computer, an energy crystal. and an automatic lacing system that replaces laces with flexible rubber bands.
In the event that the shoe-sharer cannot pay, two bands in the shoe will begin to tighten, giving the wearer an uncomfortable feeling to remind them to pay.
If they don't pay in two days, the rubber bands will tighten and crush the little foot bones, reshaping the foot into a beautiful, petite, lotus-foot.
