Hi there, I do have to say, I was a bit surprised to find the game forked and relaunched under the same name without hearing from you first. You know, I played it and did not find anything new from mine except the Hive login that I tried and failed.

A quick message beforehand would have been appreciated. Also, the repo didn't have a license at the time, and only the original author can license the code, so the MIT license you added doesn't really cover my part.

I've now added the Apache 2.0 license to the original repo: https://github.com/d-bot-2026/hive-block-producer

As I said in my original post, I'm happy for people to take the idea and the code and build on them. I just ask that each version has its own identity. So here are my requests:

  1. Please give your version its own name and visual design. Right now both are called "Hive Block Producer" and look the same, so players can't tell them apart. Since your version also invites players to vote for the hive3@hive3 witness, people may assume I'm endorsing it, which isn't the case.

  2. Please switch to your own GoatCounter site code and remove my Google Search Console verification tag from your index.html. Your visitors are probably being counted in my analytics right now. Pointing your sitemap and robots.txt at your own URL would also help.

Once that's sorted, please keep the NOTICE file for the original code, and feel free to keep building. Looking forward to a much more aggressive game development plan.
