This cartoon was done to serve as a reminder to the ills of my society - Nigeria.
One of the major challenge of my country moving forward as a nation is the irregularities contained in her laws.
The cartoon depicts the senators Vs the teachers in my country. As funny as it seems, the lawmakers in my country earn one of the largest annual salary with loads of bogus incentives; talk of wardrobe allowance, furniture allowance, motor vehicle allowance and a whole lot of other allowances. Approximately, a Nigerian senator earns approximately 1.7 million dollars per annum.
While all these is going on, the teachers are left hanging. In a Nigerian Federal University, the lecturers goes on strike at least every 2 to 3 years. They receive miser salaries, their study leave allowance is abysmal, enough lecturers are not appointed and a whole lot of other stuff.
Approximately, a Nigerian lecturer earn 390 dollars per month.
The picture tells the whole story. Original art done by me.
