How's everyone doing on this Wednesday? I hope you alright and treating each other alright too.
With this one, I decided to go back to basics and do a portrait in greyscale. I always find it's helpful to visit the bare essentials to get you footing again. I often get lost in color value and I'm frequently left feeling funky if I can't nail it, which is often. So doing greyscale stuff helps re-center me. The reference model is local musician Nadia Nakai
I don't have process materials for this because I just wanted to cut loose without having to think about all the steps and prep. I just went in with a pastel type hard edge brush and started making shapes on one layer and the process just takes me over.
