I tried my older samsung, I only use it as a backup camera. No service. But works great for that. It didn't do too well. Probably that auto mode. Plus, couldn't get as close as I wanted. The "zoom" is not really a zoom. So not the same result. But when it's raining, it makes a great backup/keep the other one dry sort of thing.
