Good idea to read it to him in a good mood. Might be taken sideways, otherwise. Though I understand the humor in it completely. As for we men and our intentions...I'm sure they are highly varied by person, and there are very controlling folks on both sides of the gender aisle. . But in my case, I think it usually stems not from control, but actually trying to be helpful. The old toolbox I spoke of. Genuine feeling of "I can help", or from caring. IE: "wear a hat dear, I don't want you to get skin cancer." Not based in control or legitamacy, because I don't really care a wit if you wear a hat, but more from, "I care about you." Though I suppose it can get old in a hurry. Can only speak for self here, but I'm working on it. "Don't fix it, just show some empathy, or ask IF you can do anything."
