Well now, would you look at that!
It would appear we're starting to see movement on the SBD again. As we approach $1 again, I really think this is a good time for witnesses to try and peg the SBD and turn it into a stable coin.
When I first joined Steem, I ran across a rather spirited discussion between @aggroed and
@reggaemuffin over whether or not a hard peg on the SBD was a good idea. Bear in mind, the SBD was worth $6 or more at that point in time. At that point, it didn't make sense for people to lose a ton of value on account of some arbitrary nonsense.
Of course, we all saw what happened. The price slipped, and we got @burnpost and
@sbdpotato as a result. Now that the price of SBD is much closer to the $1 price point, it might be worth bringing this up again, pegging the price at $1. This is a strike while the iron is hot situation, and I call on the witnesses I've gotten to know over the years to look into this and maybe make it happen. Apologies for the ping spam, but I want to hear from:

I want to know what you guys think about this idea. Despite the differences @aggroed and
@reggaemuffin had in their discussion, both agreed that pegging the SBD should happen. It was a difference of when and how that made up the debate. So, let's talk! Do you think now is a good time to peg the SBD? Do you think pegging the SBD is a good idea?
