What's buzzing, friends!
We all know what an espresso coffee is... but if you do not, an espresso is a coffee brewed by forcing hot water through finely ground coffee beans, usually in a machine known as an espresso machine. Espresso is generally thicker than coffee brewed by other methods, has a higher caffeine content, and has a distinctive, intense flavor.
Do you know what a caff猫 sospeso is? This could be an espresso, or anything else for that matter, as it's a free coffee! Let's go back to the 1800s, and WWII. In Naples, Italy to fill you in.
It was a hard time for many, and this brought forth a unique trend. You could argue it was one of the first Pay-It-Ahead movements, that is still alive today. When a patron went to a coffee shop, they would order a caff猫 sospeso. That was the price of 2 coffees.
The patron would then drink one coffee and leave the second one for anyone who came in and asked for a caff猫 sospeso. This tradition is still alive today. You can read a great story about is HERE.
