For my finance post this week, I want to look at how to claim your LARYNX tokens from the recent SPK airdrop. I know there are a few posts on LeoFinance about this already; my target here is more my followers who may not hang around LeoFinance and have no idea.
Ready? Let's get started!
LARYNX Tokens
First off, if you were on Hive as of Jan 6th when the snapshot for the airdrop was taken, you have some LARYNX tokens to claim! There may be a lot of a few, depending on what your Hive balance was on Jan 6th, but any is better than none, eh?
The short answer is: Click Here. That will take you to the SPK website. Click the Gift button and wait.
It may take a while (because all of HIVE is claiming their airdrops) but eventually your claimed tokens will show up in your balance. It'll look like this:
The amount will be different for you. It'll be 1/12th of the Hive you held on Jan 6th. But it should appear in your wallet just like this.
You will get a drop like this every month for the next 11 months. You will have the entire month to claim them. But be sure to do that, because if you don't claim them within the month they are dropped, you lose them.
So what can we do with these?
You could hold them. No one is really entirely sure how everything is going to work out yet. That in mind, they may go up in value a lot, so holding seems a good idea.
You could sell them. Click the DEX button and that will bring up a familiar trading interface. You can sell here—or buy more.
You could send them to someone. I'll volunteer to receive them if you don't want to bother. ;) No, no, I'm being silly—please don't send me your tokens (unless you really want to).
At some point in the future we may be able to use these LARYNX tokens to mine additional tokens, but as of yet we don't have much info on that.
But What Are LARYNX Tokens For?
To put it simply, they are for 3speak, which is a decentralized video site, like YouTube but without Google and all their privacy unfriendly practices as well as their questionable muting practices, not to mention the constantly increasing ads we have to put up with over there.

What Should I Do?
Go claim them. This is the most important step. Go Here and click the gift button.
Sit and Wait or sell, your call. At least for the moment, they are just tokens representing potential money, sitting in our wallets. You can try selling them now, but probably the best course is to just sit on them, at least for the moment until we have more information about everything.
