That's quite a lot of snow. I enjoy snow in winter, but a meter in a night.... Here in the eastern side of Aichi, we rarely get any snow. In the 20 years I've been here I've not seen more than a cm or two. And even with as little as we get, when it does come, car accidents always go up. I'd hate to see how bad it'd be if we got any real snowfall.
Back home in Indiana there was a blizzard in 1978 that people still talk about that brought over 8 feet in one night. What's 8 feet... about 2 and a half meters I think. People woke up and found they couldn't even open their front door because the snow was higher than the door! Kids were jumping off the roof of the house for fun. But during my childhood I never saw so much. It might be interesting if we got that much here one winter. I can imagine the panic haha
Anyway, interesting. I didn't know that about the praying mantis.
