You are really doing a wonderful job with these longer posts lately, Max. And I see you are being well rewarded for them—congrats! Unfortunately I've never been to Sado yet, but it's long been on my list. Bashō's famous haiku instantly came to mind when I saw this post. 荒海や佐渡に横たふ天の河 stormy sea / stretching over Sado / the milky way!
