I remember this story. There was a girl on Hive years ago when it was Steemit, she was the woman from your story. She was always posting about the injustice to her husband. Unfortunately, with the current hatred between China and the USA, it may be awhile before anything good can come of the situation.

Absolutely. The problem is not form of government. Communism, capitalism, etc. There are good and bad aspects to any economic system. All of these can be corrupted and usually are, so we rarely see any economic system in its pure form, at least not outside of propaganda. The problem is and always has been classism. The rich subvert and corrupt the government which suppresses the lower classes. This is the tale of humanity.
