As much as I love Kyoto, I haven't been there in years. I used to go every weekend. But the tourist just became so bad I didn't enjoy it as much anymore. And this was years before the current overtourism.
BTW, a Japanese person would never wear either of those two kimono. Far too loud and tasteless. The kimono rentals stick out like a sore thumb. ;) That reminds me to write the promised sequel to my geisha post about how prostitutes and the US's insistence for them to appease the troops after WW2 ruined the image of geisha for the West, starting the stereotype that they are just sex workers.
Ah... maybe later. I have class soon and am trying to watch the World Series as I can. Ohtani is pitching!
