1 Samuel 15:23
For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, he has rejected you as king.
The sin of disobedience is a terrible sin. Nothing hinders the children of God from fulfilling their purpose in life like disobedience. Disobedience comes in many shades. It can take the form of refusal to keep to specific instructions, functioning in an office God has not called you to, courting a wrong relationship or operating in a place you are not meant to be in at a particular time. No matter what form it takes, the truth remains that disobedience is a terrible sin in the sight of the Almighty God.
King Saul lost his crown in 1Samuel 15:1-23 because of partial obedience. Partial obedience is no different from complete disobedience. Every act of disobedience erodes our reservoir of God's blessings.
Numbers 12:8b
With him I speak face to face, clearly and not in riddles; he sees the form of the LORD.
Moses was so close to God that he conversed with God mouth to mouth. But when he was told by God to strike the rock once but he struck the rock twice instead,he was severely punished by not being allowed to enter the Promised Land (Numbers 20:12 NIV).
Its worthy that we check our lives and find out those things that are capable of hindering us from becoming the best God wants us to be and drop them before they make us drop out of the journey to the Promised Land.
Reflection
The pains as a consequence of disobedience is heart-aching.
Prayer
Father by your mercy, may we not miss out of the journey to our promised land because of disobedience in Jesus' Name, Amen..
