Hello to all my musician and singer friends in the MUSIC Community! I hope you're all doing well and having a lovely evening. Today I'm bringing you another Christmas song. The best month of the year, when we celebrate Christmas with our families and loved ones, is just around the corner, creating unique and unforgettable moments. I'll be playing it on the recorder, and I hope you enjoy it. The song is called "Carol of the Bell," and I hope you like it.
La versi贸n y letra en ingl茅s, "Carol of the Bells", fue creada por Peter J. Wilhousky en 1936, despu茅s de escuchar la melod铆a.
The song "Carol of the Bells" is a world-famous Christmas choral piece, characterized by its insistent, fast, and repetitive rhythm that imitates the sound of ringing bells. Its origins can be traced back to a Ukrainian folk melody called "Shchedryk," originally composed by Mykola Leontovych in 1914. However, the original purpose of "Shchedryk" was not for Western Christmas, but rather the arrival of the New Year (celebrated in the Orthodox calendar) and the joy of the coming harvest. Its original lyrics tell the story of a swallow flying to a home. The English version and lyrics, "Carol of the Bells," were created by Peter J. Wilhousky in 1936 after he heard the melody. Wilhousky adapted the music to reflect the Christmas atmosphere and the image of the bells, and his choral arrangement is what catapulted it to international fame, making it an essential piece in Christmas movies, advertisements and concerts because of its unmistakable energy and dramatic structure.
I hope you enjoy this lovely performance, and if you have any requests for a song you'd like to hear played on the Recorder and it's within my reach, I'll be happy to play it.
