Le applicazioni di questa figura matematica sono molteplici, e sarebbe quasi impossibile elencarle tutte, ma i campi principali restano quelli della fisica, dell'elettromagnetismo e dell'astronomia.
Sempre il 14 marzo abbiamo inoltre reso omaggio a Stephen Hawking, che si è spento durante la notte tra martedì e mercoledì nella sua residenza inglese. Hawking è stato uno degli scienziati più stimati a cavallo del secolo e le sue scoperte ci hanno permesso di arrivare lontano, ma la sua più grande eredità resterà il suo approccio alla vita.
Per quanto gli scenari catastrofici presentati in film famosi come quello di Emmerich siano sicuramente esagerati e improbabili, è innegabile che da qui ai prossimi anni il Global Warming ci imporrà riflessioni sempre più serie su quali siano i provvedimenti da prendere per arginare i danni. Alcuni nostri ecosistemi mostrano già segni di estrema sofferenza, non possiamo aspettaere ancora.
