Luego de que dieran los resultados, los tres niños salieron muy felices, ya que después de tantos nervios, estar en una gran lista de participantes y esperar que anunciaran los resultados, finalmente lograron avanzar y estar dentro de los 60 participantes que siguen con vida en el concurso. Charlie estaba feliz, Lucas no paraba de hablar y Sofía no podía creerlo, porque ahora es que comienza el desafío más grande, donde los tres niños tiene una semana para preparar su presentación de la siguiente ronda, lo cual significaba que no hay tiempo para el descanso, sino trabajar en esa audición.
After the results were announced, the three children were overjoyed, because after all the nerves—being on a long list of contestants and waiting for the results to be announced—they had finally made it through and were among the 60 contestants still in the competition. Charlie was happy, Lucas couldn’t stop talking, and Sofía couldn’t believe it—because now the biggest challenge begins: the three children have one week to prepare their performance for the next round, which means there’s no time to rest—only to work on that audition.
Los tres niños se miraron y Charlie comentó —Tenemos que darlo todo, esta vez no podemos dejar nada al azar— así que los tres niños entendieron que la verdadera competencia apenas comenzaba. Sin embargo antes de comenzar con ese trabajo Charlie tomó su teléfono y llamó a su abuelo, siendo algo muy importante, ya que necesitaban contarle toda esa noticia. El abuelo respondió luego de unos minutos y los tres niños emocionados le comentaron —¡Abuelo, lo logramos! ¡Pasamos a la siguiente ronda!— el abuelo se quedó sorprendido, porque más allá del resultado, lo valioso era haberle enseñado a Charlie tocar el banjo y ahora está luchando por un gran sueño. Esa llamada fue muy emocionante y para terminar los tres niños comentaron —No te vamos a decepcionar, abuelo—
Al finalizar los tres niños se quedaron mirando, donde ya estaban cansados, pero ninguno quería regresar a casa para descansar sin antes comenzar a pensar en lo que harían. Solo tenían una semana para ensayar hasta que cada nota saliera perfecta, para corregir errores, preparar la puesta en escena y armar una presentación que pudiera hacer que los jurados volvieran a decir sus nombres. Charlie planteó muy buenas ideas, Lucas pensaba cómo usar los instrumentos y que tuvieran mucha más importancia y Sofía comenzó a pensar en la manera de hacer que todo el espectáculo tuviera algo especial.
The three children looked at each other, and Charlie said, “We have to give it our all; this time we can’t leave anything to chance.” So the three children realized that the real competition was just beginning. However, before getting started on that task, Charlie picked up his phone and called his grandfather—it was a very important matter, since they needed to tell him all the news. Grandpa answered after a few minutes, and the three excited children told him, “Grandpa, we did it! We made it to the next round!” Grandpa was surprised, because beyond the result, what mattered most was that he’d taught Charlie to play the banjo, and now Charlie was fighting for a big dream. That call was very exciting, and to wrap things up, the three children said, “We won’t let you down, Grandpa.”
When they were done, the three children stood there looking at each other; they were already tired, but none of them wanted to go home to rest without first starting to think about what they would do next. They only had a week to rehearse until every note was perfect, to correct mistakes, prepare the staging, and put together a performance that would make the judges call their names again. Charlie came up with some great ideas; Lucas thought about how to use the instruments to make them stand out more; and Sofía began thinking of ways to make the whole show feel special.
Los tres estaban trabajando y este sería un gran reto, ya que también había otros 59 participantes que también se estaban preparando para esa gran noche. All three of them were working, and this would be a huge challenge, since there were also 59 other participants who were preparing for that big night. At that moment, Charlie looked at his banjo and remembered his grandfather’s words; he thought about all the hours of practice, every mistake he’d made, and every time he’d been on the verge of giving up. So the three children began preparing for the most important performance of their lives, and taking the stage would no longer be like any other audition—because now they were three contestants who had discovered they could dream big, and they had only seven days to prove it.
