This caller has an issue with independent media. Does Steemit?

I received a call from a viewer who questioned some elements of independent media. I respectfully challenged his assertions, as you can see in this clip. That being said, I'm curious what Steemit things about the points raised.

Since joining Steemit, my instinct has been that while many Steemians may not agree with me politically, my sense is that most of Steemit supports THIS community for the same reasons that I believe in the power of financially indepenedent media.
