Practical ways to save Battery and boost Ram performance on your mobile device
Battery
Am sure you have read a lot of articles and recommendations about preventing battery drain on your mobile device, but they just never work or do they?. I will be giving you tips as a long term mobile user whose used virtually every O.S launched and a hand full of devices.
Remove all Battery booster applications or performance boosters : Please don't be surprised, these boosters require 24/7 access to your device system to function which leads to constantly running processes in the background. this will drain your batter and they generally don't do what they say they do, maybe a few.
Turn off all wireless connections that are not in use : NFC, wifi, bluetooth, hotspot, infrared etc, turn them off , they are not running on nuclear energy, its power from your battery so turn them off!.
Prevent Unnecessary Internet connections : the first way to do this is by removing unnecessary apps that require internet connections. On both android and Ios data access can be toggled on per app bases in the settings menu. please do well to explore and turn off data access for apps you dont use regularly.
Lifestyle : if you on the damn thing all the time, what do you expect? its definitely going to run low, some folks turn on back light just to admire their phones, lol especially iphone users, i used to do that and you end up doing a lot of unnecessary things which drain your battery and reduce actual productivity time or real play time , so you better watch it.
Android users can download GREENIFY: this is a light weight app that helps you hibernate applications with cached background processes, can hibernate any app tho, follow the steps in the application to set up for rooted and non rooted users.
Ios users should leave the default settings intact as apple has built and configured the software and hardware to work at optimum efficiency when necessary.
Ram management
Ram can be defined as random access memory. It is that memory in your phone were all open applications are stored, not just open once but cached once too to allow easy start up without necessarily restarting, its that part of memory that enables your mobile device to multi task.
This section is specifically for android users whose phones have below 3gigs of ram, I left ios users out because ios does an imazing job when it comes to that, my 1gig ram Iphone 5s made in 2013 trumped the 1.5gig ram samsung galaxy j7 made in 2016 just so you know where am coming from.
Trust me , you have a lot of apps you dont use or seldome use, do away with them.thats ram space you just saved.
Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are ram hogs in that order. they all soak up a lot of ram space and run multiple background processes. The good news is they all have great web versions that are almost as good as their applications. so if you are willing to sacrifice real time notifications for a phone that runs smooth then web is the way to go, take out this apps and have your peace of mind.
Endeavor to close applications after use, especially if you will have little to no use of it sooner.
Avoid ram boost applications as this applications require ram space to function properly.
I hope this post has been of help to somebody, cheers and a merry Christmas.
