Quick Lesson [Eng-Esp]

I know there are people in this community with far more knowledge and experience than me; nevertheless, I think it's worth sharing an anecdote I had a few days ago. I found myself needing to exchange a few Hive for USDT on the BEP20 network; a process that, although it seemed simple, took me down a path of obstacles and small details that almost left me stranded. In the end, everything was resolved, but the experience left me with a valuable lesson that I want to share with you.

The intention of this post is not to talk about massive exchanges or complex strategies, but about something much more basic and everyday for those of us who move in the day-to-day world of cryptocurrencies: minimum withdrawal amounts and the flexibility that some tools can offer us if we know how to use them. The initial plan was to exchange my Hive for USDT on CoinEX, then to be able to use those "stablecoins" and move them to my personal wallet via the BEP20 network. Everything seemed clear until the moment came to execute the order. When I checked the minimum required to make the exchange, I realized my balance was insufficient; I was short of reaching the minimum set by the exchange. Luckily, another user of the network lent me a hand, completing the amount and allowing me to move forward.

Sé que en esta comunidad hay personas con muchísimo más conocimiento y experiencia que yo, no obstante creo que vale la pena compartir una anécdota que tuve hace unos días. Me vi en la necesidad de intercambiar unos pocos Hive por USDT en la red BEP20; un proceso que aunque parecía sencillo, me llevó por un camino de obstáculos y pequeños detalles que casi me dejan varado, al final todo se resolvió, pero la experiencia me dejó una lección valiosa que quiero compartir con ustedes.

La intención de este post no es hablar de intercambios masivos ni de estrategias complejas, sino de algo mucho más básico y cotidiano para quienes nos movemos en el día a día de las criptomonedas: los montos mínimos de retiro y la flexibilidad que nos pueden ofrecer algunas herramientas si sabemos usarlas. Acompáñenme que les cuento.

El plan inicial era cambiar mis Hive por USDT en CoinEX, para luego poder disponer de esas "monedas estables" y moverlas a mi wallet personal a través de la red BEP20, todo parecía claro hasta que llegó el momento de ejecutar la orden, al consultar el mínimo que se requería para hacer el cambio, me di cuenta de que mi saldo era insuficiente, me faltaba para llegar al mínimo establecido por el exchange, por suerte otro usuario de la red me tendió una mano, completando el monto y permitiéndome seguir adelante.

With the exchange done and my USDT now available in my CoinEX account, I proceeded to withdraw it to my personal wallet using the BEP20 network. That's when I remembered something fundamental that I had overlooked: to withdraw via that network, the exchange also requires a minimum amount, and of course my USDT did not reach that amount. I had focused so much on reaching the minimum for the exchange that I had left aside this second requirement.

I couldn't move the USDT to my wallet because the exchange required a larger amount; a clear example of how "minimum operation amounts" and "minimum withdrawal amounts" are two different things, and if we don't have them clear, we can end up trapped.

Then I remembered a tool I had used in the past to move small amounts of TON: FixedFloat. This is an automatic cryptocurrency exchange; it basically works as a quick bridge between different networks and currencies. It currently allows exchanging around 54 coins. It supports a wide variety of networks, including Avalanche C‑Chain and BNB Smart Chain (BEP20). Its main advantage is that it is non-custodial, meaning it does not hold your funds, and the exchanges are done instantly; within a few minutes.

By withdrawing my USDT from CoinEX using the Avalanche C‑Chain network (a network that was available and with a lower minimum withdrawal) and through a completely automated instant exchange service, I managed to transfer them to the BEP20 network. I had solved the problem with total transparency and low fees.

Con el cambio realizado y mi USDT ya disponible en la cuenta de CoinEX me dispuse a retirarlo a mi wallet personal usando la red BEP20, fue entonces cuando recordé algo fundamental pero que había pasado por alto: para retirar por esa red, el exchange también exige un monto mínimo, y claro mis USDT no llegaban a esa cantidad, me había centrado tanto en completar el mínimo para el intercambio, que había dejado de lado este segundo requisito.

No podía mover el USDT a mi Wallet porque el exchange me pedía una cantidad mayor, un ejemplo claro de cómo los "montos mínimos de operación" y los "montos mínimos de retiro" son dos cosas diferentes, y si no las tenemos claras, podemos terminar atrapados.

Entonces recordé una herramienta que ya había usado en el pasado para mover cantidades pequeñas de TON: FixedFloat Este es un exchange automático de criptomonedas; básicamente funciona como un puente rápido entre distintas redes y monedas, actualmente permite intercambiar alrededor de 54 monedas. Soporta una amplia variedad de redes, incluyendo Avalanche C‑Chain y BNB Smart Chain (BEP20). Su principal ventaja es que no es custodial, es decir que no retiene tus fondos, y los intercambios se realizan de manera inmediata; en cuestión de pocos minutos.

Logrando retirar mis USDT desde CoinEX usando la red Avalanche C‑Chain (una red que sí llegaba a tener disponible y con un mínimo de retiro más bajo) y a través de un servicio de intercambio instantáneo completamente automatizado, logré pasarlos a la red BEP20, había resuelto el problema con total transparencia y bajas tarifas.

This experience served to remind me of three key points, which many of us may already know but which are worth reinforcing:

Operation and withdrawal minimums are different. On an exchange, the minimum amount required to make an exchange is not the same as what they will later require to withdraw those funds to your wallet. Each network (BEP20, TRC20, C‑Chain, etc.) has its own requirements and fees. You should always check both before starting.
Automatic bridges like FixedFloat are allies for moving funds. Tools like this allow you to jump from one network to another without needing accounts on multiple exchanges or going through long verification processes; ideal for small amounts or emergencies like the one I experienced.
Not everything is lost if one path closes. Sometimes when an exchange blocks us for not reaching the withdrawal minimum, we think the only solution is to deposit more funds or leave our assets stranded; but there are alternatives: change networks, use a bridge, or even exchange to another coin with lower minimums. The key is to know the options and be willing to try.

In the end, the crypto world consists not only of big investments and complex charts, but also of small transactions, learning from others' mistakes, and helping each other avoid falling into the same problems.

My intention with this post is simply to document something that happened to me, how I solved it, and what I learned in the process. _Esta experiencia sirvió para recordar tres puntos claves, que quizás muchos ya conocemos, pero que no está de más reforzar:

Los mínimos de operación y de retiro son distintos. En un exchange, el monto mínimo que piden para hacer un intercambio no es el mismo que luego te exigirán para retirar esos fondos a tu Wallet. Cada red (BEP20, TRC20, C‑Chain, etc.) tiene sus propios requisitos y tarifas. Siempre hay que revisar ambos antes de empezar.
Los puentes automáticos como
FixedFloat son aliados para mover fondos. Herramientas como esta permiten saltar de una red a otra sin necesidad de tener cuentas en múltiples exchanges ni de pasar por procesos de verificación largos, ideales para cantidades pequeñas o para emergencias como la que me pasó a mí.
No todo está perdido si un camino se cierra, a veces cuando un exchange nos bloquea por no llegar al mínimo de retiro, pensamos que la única solución es depositar más fondos o dejar varados nuestros activos; pero existen alternativas: cambiar de red, usar un puente, o incluso intercambiar a otra moneda con mínimos más bajos. La clave está en conocer las opciones y estar dispuestos a probar._

Al final el mundo cripto no solo se compone de grandes inversiones y gráficos complejos, sino también de pequeñas transacciones, de aprender de los errores ajenos y de ayudarnos mutuamente a evitar caer en los mismos problemas.
