Finally football season is back! Hurray! I am super excited that the English Premier League will kick start this weekend but I am also excited by the fact that the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) also starts.
The Fantasy Premier League as the name implies is a fantasy online game played by football fans all over the globe. Though there are various fantasy football games available but the most popular among them is the fantasy Premier League.
In the FPL, you get to create your own team and as the manager of this team you will have access to a massive budget of a £100 million with which you use to buy 15 players; 2 goalkeepers, 5 defenders, 5 midfielders and 3 forwards of your choice from different clubs in the English Premier League. The prices of these players ranges from £3m to £12.5m, so buy wisely so as to get the maximise your budget and get points out of them. When choosing the players you cannot choose more than 3 players from a club, that is, you can't pick more than 3 players from Chelsea FC in your FPL team.
A team manager has the option of changing or making transfer within the week before game day. In preparation for the Weekend game after selecting your team, you have to wisely make one of them the captain, usually the player that has greater potential of bring more points for you because as a captain the total point amassed by that player will be multiplied by 2.
Below are how points are allocated.
Leagues are created in the FPL, so you and your friends can create one just for the fun of it and compete against each other to see who tops the league table weekly or at the end of the season. While some play for gifts or cash prices as mutually agreed by the participants in the league.
Also at the end of the season whoever tops in terms of points globally gets a seven night break in the UK including VIP hospitality at two 2022-2023 premier league matches, a Hublot connected watch, a copy of FIFA 22 and a game console.
Just wondering if Hive or any sport community have a FPL, I would definitely like to join to compete against my fellow football fans. Sure it will be fun.
