It's said that change is constant. Growth should be so. Well, growth is also a change, so I guess it fits into that. However, this is about an intentional effort. When it comes to biological and physical growth, we can do little to nothing to determine if they happen or not, with a few exceptions. But when it involves a kind of growth that goes beyond that and has to do with intentionality, we have a lot on ourselves to determine that.
Everyone has a desire to grow, whether in the biological and physical aspects, or in terms of personal growth which involves the development of the mind and other aspects of life which are highly dependent on one's intentional efforts. Personal growth or development involves continuous learning, gaining new knowledge and insight, seeking new experiences, learning skills, making meaningful relationships and connections, and more.
Personal growth could take one through different routes in life. This growth goes with some goals in mind. These goals tend to set the course for one's personal development. This could be taking some courses, further studies, some physical efforts, gaining skills and the rudiments of the path a person chooses. Growth is important and necessary as we still dwell on earth, and this growth or development is guided by some personal goals.
I've been trying to do some things in life. Some of which are recent developments while others have been there for some time. They are my goals I'd say, and they've taken me through some measures and efforts. I'm yet to have some come to fruition, but they remain goals for me as I continue on this earth. I've come to realise that getting things done bit by bit is best, rather than hoarding a lot to do simultaneously, which in a way has defined my growth effort.
Amongst other important things, I'm seeking to grow in my skills and profession. I'm not much on the professional aspect now as it requires some major steps, demands and resources which I don't have the privilege for currently. But I'm committed to building myself in my skills as a graphic designer, video editor and also building a new skill portfolio in the digital skills trajectory. It hasn't been easy as resources, more knowledge and opportunities are needed.
One of the biggest life lessons that has had an impact on me, in relation to growth even is the need to start early, as much as you can and as opportuned or privileged. Also, to form good and meaningful relationships. At times, and many times it can be, it's those you have that will help you out when need be, whether a dire or a minor need. We have people in our lived to help them and to receive help from them likewise, as we cherish and value one another.
